Moonlit Barn Owl Linocut
A mysterious barn owl sits perched on a gnarly tree branch illuminated by a full moon. I chose a barn owl because of their interesting feathers that have a speckle to them and all different patterns on their feathers going in different directions. This Barn Owl squints under the full moon in a peaceful gaze.
This print was made from carving a linoleum block and applying ink on the surface with non-toxic oil based black printing ink. It is then hand printed, pressed and applied to a sheet of high quality cotton rag paper.
All prints are signed and numbered. This is an original linocut and a limited edition print series of 50
Art size: 5 ½ x 8”
Paper size: 8×10” approx.
Since each print is individually printed by hand their will be slight variations between the prints in inking, texture and saturation, adding to the unique handmade quality of an original linocut.
Prints are shipped in an archival clear plastic sleeve, sandwiched between sturdy cardboard.
